Joris E. Fletcher

Principal

Mr. Fletcher is a Principal of BroadSpan Asset Management (“BSAM”). Mr. Fletcher joined BSAM in May 2013 to lead the development of multiple asset management strategies for BSAM including private credit, private equity and liquid fixed income.

Previously, Mr. Fletcher was with Lehman Brothers which he joined in 2002 to establish a mezzanine investment business within the firm’s European private equity division. At Lehman he helped raise the largest European mezzanine fund at the time, and led the origination, execution, monitoring and realization of investments representing in total of approximately US$1 billion. At the time of Lehman's bankruptcy, Mr. Fletcher was a Managing Director and Head of the firm’s European Mezzanine and Private Credit business. He managed all aspects of the business through Lehman’s complex multi-jurisdictional bankruptcy, before spinning the business out into an independent credit manager with the support of its group of investors. In 2012, given the adverse fundraising climate in Europe, Joris and his partners decided to wind-down the fund and have since returned all initial capital to the limited partners.

Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Mr. Fletcher worked in Morgan Stanley’s Leverage Finance Capital Markets Division in London, where he focused on arranging leveraged loan and bond offerings for buyout financings. Mr. Fletcher started his career after business school in the Latin American Capital Markets division of Barclays Capital in Miami.

Mr. Fletcher graduated from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, and got his MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
